A Quarterly Content Plan from a Single Recording Session in Madrid
How to build a quarterly content plan from a single studio recording session: what to record, how many pieces you get and how to spread them over 12 weeks.
Recording every week is the most expensive way to have content. You have to set up light, camera and sound every time, and the person on screen turns up tired and with no desire to repeat the same thing. The usual result is that the calendar breaks down by week three.
At A0Studios we do something different with many clients: one long session per quarter, with a 12-week plan already written before the camera goes on. I direct the session with a sales mindset, because I work with Meta and TikTok ads and I know which pieces are worth recording twice.

Why one session per quarter works
The cost of a session isn't in the recording itself, but in the setup, the preparation and the time of the person recording. If you spread that over 30 or 40 pieces, the cost per piece drops a lot compared with recording 3 videos every week.
You also gain consistency. The same clothes, the same light and the same set give you a recognizable brand. And you can calmly decide which messages go organic, which get tested as ads and which are saved for a launch.
The risk is recording things that expire. Prices, promotions and dates don't belong in a quarterly plan. What does belong is content that stays valid: explanations, objections, processes, opinions and client questions.
How to build a quarterly plan properly
Start with the 12 weeks, not the script
Before writing a single sentence, define what you want to happen each month. Month one: get people to know you. Month two: get them to understand what you do differently. Month three: get them to book. With that structure you decide how many pieces of each type you need, usually 3 or 4 per week for organic.
Group the topics into recording blocks
Inside the session you record by blocks, not in publishing order. One block of pieces talking to camera, another with the product or service in action, another of short interviews. Each block shares framing, light and energy, which avoids set changes that eat up an hour.
Record more than you'll publish
A 4-hour session with 2 microphones and a Sony A7 yields between 30 and 40 useful clips if the script is ready. Set aside 20% for alternative versions of the opening of the videos. A good hook decides more than the rest of the piece, and testing 3 different openings in ads costs almost nothing once they're recorded.

Common mistakes when planning a quarter
- Arriving without a script and deciding as you go: you spend the studio's most expensive hours thinking.
- Recording everything in the same tone: you need serious, light and direct pieces so the account doesn't turn monotonous.
- Including content with an expiry date: offers, events and prices go stale within two weeks.
- Not separating organic from what will run as ads: a paid video needs a hook, an offer and a call to action, and an organic one doesn't.
- Forgetting about editing: 40 unedited clips aren't a plan, they're a folder. Count the editing time from the start.
How we do it at A0Studios
We're at Ronda de Atocha 16, seventh floor, in central Madrid. Before you book we have a call to organize the quarter: what you sell, which objections always come up and which pieces work best in your case. From that comes the clip list and the recording order.
Depending on the service, we record and you deliver the material (Recording Only), we edit with DaVinci Resolve and CapCut (Recording + Editing) or we take care of script, direction and calendar (Full Production). We've worked with IFEMA, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Cinesa, and the method is the same for a personal brand as for a team.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a session to cover a quarter last?
Between 3 and 5 hours, depending on how many pieces you need and how many people are recording. With 2 people and a locked script, 4 hours usually yields 30 to 40 clips. More than 5 hours in a row is tiring and it shows on camera.
How many pieces do I need for 12 weeks?
If you post 3 times a week, you need around 36 pieces, plus a few spares. With short pieces of 30 to 60 seconds, it's perfectly possible to record them in one morning if everything is prepared.
Can the same material be used for ads?
Yes, and it's worth planning from the start. You record several openings for each message and test them on Meta or TikTok Ads. What wins in paid gets reinforced with more pieces in the next quarter.
What happens if something changes mid-quarter?
That's what the reserve slot is for. A short one-hour session, a month and a half later, covers new developments without repeating the whole setup. Content that doesn't expire stays as it is.
