Renting a studio by the hour to shoot ads in Madrid sounds simple, until shoot day arrives and the hours disappear into setting up lights, repeating takes and deciding on the spot what to film first. If the goal is creatives for Meta Ads or TikTok, every hour counts double: you don't just need to shoot well, you need to shoot with a plan built for testing.

At A0Studios we rent by the hour, but we don't sell room time alone. The rate includes technical equipment and, if you need it, session direction with a sales mindset: which version of the hook to shoot first, how many variants of the same ad are worth making and in what order, so you don't reach hour four without having filmed what matters.

What hourly studio rental really includes

The hourly rate usually covers the space, the lighting and the camera gear. What isn't always included is someone directing the session with an eye on what an ad needs to work: a hook that grabs attention in the first three seconds, a product that appears at the right moment, and a length that stays within the 15-30 seconds a feed will tolerate.

At A0Studios, hourly rental comes in three options: Recording Only (you arrive with a locked script and take home the raw footage), Recording + Editing (we direct the session and deliver the finished ad in 24-48h) and Full Production (we also plan which variants to test). The price gap between the first option and the other two usually pays off when the end goal is a paid campaign, not just a nice-looking video.

How to make the most of the hours you book

Arrive with the script or brief locked

Every minute spent deciding what to film in the room is a minute not spent filming. If you arrive with the script, the hook and the list of variants already decided, a three-hour session yields 3-4 different pieces instead of one piece repeated five times.

Shoot several versions of the same hook

For ads, a single version isn't enough: you need something to test against. In a two-hour session there is usually time to shoot 2-3 variants of the same message, changing the opening, the shot or the pacing, so the ads team has real material to compare in the campaign instead of a single bet.

Leave room for the product shot or CTA

The last 10-15 minutes of a session are usually reserved for the close: the product shot, the logo or the call to action. If it's left for the end without a plan, it's the first thing sacrificed when time gets tight, and it's exactly the part the ads team needs to build the CTA.

When hourly rental makes more sense than full production

  • You already have the script, hook and structure decided and only need space, equipment and occasional direction in the room.
  • You're going to test several variants of the same ad and prefer to control the editing process yourself.
  • You have an in-house marketing team that handles the edit and only needs the recorded footage.
  • You need to repeat sessions often and prefer paying by the hour rather than a fixed package.
  • You want to try the studio before moving to Recording + Editing or Full Production in future sessions.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours do I need to shoot several ads?

Two hours is usually enough to shoot 2-3 variants of one ad with its closing shot. With three or four hours you can cover more than one message or format in the same session.

Does hourly rental include session direction?

Not with Recording Only: you arrive with the script decided. Recording + Editing and Full Production include it, and it can also be added on request to a Recording Only session.

Can I rent the studio just to record, without editing?

Yes, that's the Recording Only option: you come to the studio, record with professional technical equipment and take the day's raw footage to edit on your own.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Yes. Sessions are booked in minimum blocks to leave time to set up and strike the set between bookings. We confirm it based on availability when you book.
